Mogan

Picturesque and pretty as a picture on a chocolate box, Mogan is a delightful resort, known as "Little Venice".  Lying as the most westerly of the resorts on the south coast, Mogan Gran Canaria  (as many tourist resorts start out) was once just a local fishing community, but obviously some canny entrepreneur saw the potential and a beauty was born.

The marina is chic and trendy and a lovely blend of the old original fishing village combines in a holidaymaker's heaven. Sophisticated and relaxing, the entire layout of the resort is purpose built for pleasure and an upmarket feel permeates throughout, so this can be a Gran Canaria holiday to remember.

The little town just oozes quality and the pretty whitewashed buildings, pastel coloured facades, bright boats and jewel coloured bougainvillea all tumble together riotously, but the whole vista is profoundly pleasing. Meandering cobbled streets have so much character and are usually busy with early evening strollers who window shop or sip a cooling drink at a local cafe. Really, if Mogan Gran Canaria does not appeal to you, then you must be tired of life! Check out the direct flights into Las Palmas and book yourself a real treat today with lovely accommodation.

Any recent construction that has been added to Mogan is tasteful and in low rise design, so the panorama is never jarring. Daytime attractions include the famous "yellow submarine" for viewing the coastal floor and marine life and, of course, the locals offer deep sea fishing trips from their own boats. A nice diversion is a little boat trip to the neighbouring beaches of Puerto Rico, Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas
