Sorrento and Amalfi Coast Holidays
Situated on the south of a peninsula just south of Naples, the stunning Amalfi Coast includes the towns of Positano, Amalfi, Maiori and Ravello - all picturesque and perfect for sightseeing and people watching! On the north of the peninsula, you'll find Sorrento. As Italian as a Nonna (a Grandmother to you and me), Sorrento is a wonderful destination if you're thinking of a holiday in Italy. Privileged to have natural beauty in spadefuls, the area just oozes character with a rich historical past.
Full of the most hypnotic scenery imaginable, there is little I can say about the Amalfi Coast that has not already been said. Hamlets, villages and towns are hewn into solid rock faces and beautiful hotels are carved into the cliff, sloping steeply to the azure blues of the Mediterranean. The road snakes around the mountainside like a silvery ribbon of tagliatelle and the towns are terraced and stepped in a visibly precarious fashion.
So if you're looking for truly breathtaking scenery, Mediterranean sunshine and authentic Italian food, put a holiday to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast on your to-do list.
